AutoLeap Essentials at $179 a month annually is a genuinely capable plan. Unlimited repair orders, a customizable work board, CARFAX, integrated parts ordering, canned jobs, verified e-signatures, and standard digital inspections with photos, video, and voice notes are all in it.

What is not in it is worth knowing before you budget. Two-way texting starts at Pro, $309 a month annually; Essentials is one-way only. The technician app, QuickBooks Online, labor guides, time clocks, and inventory also start at Pro. Integrated Google reviews and the real-time dashboard are Elite, $409 a month. Online booking and campaigns come through the separate Marketing Suite, and the AI receptionist is another $99 a month. There is also a one-time setup fee, and no self-serve trial — you see the product through a scheduled demo.

For a small shop, texting customers is not an upgrade, it is the job. That single line item is what moves the realistic AutoLeap price for most shops from $179 to $309.

Where AutoLeap genuinely wins

Inspections are its flagship and it shows. Standard DVI ships in the entry tier, and the Elite tier adds certified checklists, one-click descriptions, and auto-generated technician notes. Eligant's inspection module is in development, so this is not a close call: if inspection-driven upsell is how you sell work, AutoLeap is the better platform today.

It also wins on repair data and migration. Labor guides, fluid and filter specs, diagrams and procedures, flat-rate jobs, a parts and labor matrix, and a full tire suite give the counter more to work with than Eligant has. And the onboarding is the thing reviewers name most often: dedicated implementation, migration from more than 65 source systems, hands-on training, and an account manager. If you are carrying fifteen years of customer and vehicle history off an aging system, that is worth real money.

Cost, and what the cost includes. At $39 to $99 a month Eligant covers booking, estimate, invoice, payment, and follow-up, with two-way SMS from $69, and it bundles the customer-growth tools rather than tiering them: a website builder, public online booking that feeds the calendar, SMS and email marketing, and Google review requests on the top tier. Nothing there is an add-on or an Elite-tier unlock.

The interface is fully bilingual English and Spanish across the whole application, where AutoLeap lists English and French. AutoLeap will not let you try the software before you talk to sales, which is a reasonable policy for a custom-built system and a real friction point for an owner who just wants to see whether he will use it on a Tuesday.

Digital inspections are in development. There are no labor guides, no diagrams and procedures, no tire suite, and no inventory module. The parts catalog integration is narrower, technician accounts require the $99 tier, it is a newer platform with a much smaller review base, and support is a small team rather than a dedicated account manager. There is no white-glove migration service; you bring your data over yourself with help by email or a screen share.

Eligant is best suited for independent shops with 1-10 bays, owners who want everything under $100 a month, shops that need two-way texting and online booking without climbing tiers, shops whose bottleneck is car count, and shops where the owner or front counter works in Spanish.

AutoLeap is best suited for shops that sell work through digital inspections, shops that want labor guides and repair data at the counter, tire shops, and any shop migrating years of history off an old system that wants a team to carry them through it.

Price the tier you will actually be on, not the headline. If you need two-way texting and online booking, AutoLeap is a $309-a-month platform plus a marketing add-on, not a $179 one. Then ask whether inspections are central to how you sell. If they are, that is worth paying for and AutoLeap has the better product today.
